Im having Great fun as Athens I have a Solid Army and A Kick *** Navy That's kind of the problem I have with Gaul, though: they're the basic barbarian experience and nothing else. I played the other Total War games for almost 200 h and i'm struggling a lot with Rome II. Within each of those I will list the top 5 factions to use. I've always had an interest in history, so the thought of playing through Roman conquests was quite appealing. Macedon will also be an early conquest, maybe even before the Brutii, but from there you can expand wherever you want. SEGA and the SEGA logo are either You just need to know what to do with satraps. The best? And that's the main problem I have with the Egyptian campaign: it's too easy. It's such a classical greek state with anything but an OP roster, yet diverse enough to have some nice builds with swordsmen, hoplites pikes and thureus troops. Their infantry is pretty lackluster, which can make sieges annoying, but I don't mind that too much. They have a bad financial situation, and in my opinion this only improves the campaign. Which is the best campaign or faction to start please :) ? What I will begrudge them is their utter lack of non-chariot cavalry.
Arverni, Tylis, Galatia, and Boii are quite powerful and easy to use, and a big reason why I think the Rome 2 multiplayer metagame got so stale. Rome: Total War is one of my favorite games, and even today I have a near-obsession. That, and there are few factions who come into conflict with the African factions early on. When the campaign starts out, they're in a pretty terrible financial situation, with their cities barely generating enough money to meet the costs of running them. Their troop selection is highly varied and capable of adapting to different situations, and includes powerful elephants. For now, though, I just have Rome, and I'm more than happy with it. The savage Germans utilize this phalanx to great effect against their barbarian neighbors, and the Romans have far more trouble against them than they do with the Gauls. This is entirely dependent on how you are playing the game, for the purpose of this answer I will focus entirely on the Single Player Campaign and the Multiplayer Battles.

The worst are the nomads because they have ZERO variety and that make them easy to counter and boring for the one that dare use them. The Greek armies are mainly composed of hoplites (including the elite SPARTANS), and that's just fine with me. I didn't raze enough settlements early on now I'm rushing it through end game. Woad Warriors, Chosen Swordsmen, Head Hurlers, British Chariots...they've got an abundance of interesting and unique soldiers to spice up a campaign. Conflict with the Scipii is inevitable within the first few turns, and the Brutii a little later, meaning that a Greek leader interested in survival will usually destroy the Romans pretty early on. Which is the best campaign or faction to start please :) ? Tw is annoying early on because you need food to not die but you have limited build slots (so spending all buildings on farms can't work).
Also, becoming a naval power is pretty cool.The nomads definitely need some work, or at least the need young axes, steppe spearmen and steppe archers in multiplayer. Price: £13.99.
